Scott Bradlee spent 2014 creating viral videos. With Postmodern Jukebox he creates jazz club versions of pop songs. Some are good, many terrible. No Diggity is always good (here). See them all. 

4. Flaming lips feat Miley Cyrus & Moby - Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds (The Beatles)

This is the highlight from Flaming Lips guest filled version of Sgt Peppers (here).

3. Dinosaur Jr - Fade Into You (Mazzy Star)

The Mazzy Star original is just about the cruisiest song ever. The Dinosaur Jr version is faithful to the original and I love it (here). 

2. The Smith Street Band - History Eraser (Courtney Barnett)

The Smith Street Band are great and Courtney Barnett songs are brilliant. This cover done for triple j like version (here).

The triplej Hottest 100 is an Australian institution. The Bawley crew don't always agree with the results but we do enjoy the ritual. Increasingly part of this ritual is the Are You Joe Average Hottest 100 quiz.o (Previous results).

Here is how it works:

2. Write down the position each of these came in the triplej Hottest 100.
3. If a song did not make the list put down 101.
4. Add up the scores, and divide by the number of songs you voted for.

How to interpret your score:

 1-13: It takes skill to Get Lucky.

 14-29: You may not have My Number but you probably have Pharrell Williams on speed dial.

The Bawley 100 - New Years Eve 2013/2014

A pair of everyday radio listeners are diagnosed with inoperable, advanced end of year list monotony. On a summer road trip they hear a Hottest 100 promo and devise a scheme to become partners, combine their skills and manufacture their own end of year list. Recruiting a lost but likable foreigner the group start work on a list to act as the antidote to all other lists and provide musical riches for their friends and family. During their time making the finest end of year list the group have a series of run ins with the law and rival list makers. Despite these setbacks, they become addicted to power and continue their list making under the guise 'Bawley'.
